Who won the war in Vietnam?

Americans say that they won the war and only had to pull out because of politics, and im sure people in Vietnam see it differently. From a decisive victory point of view, near the end of the war did the NVA control most of the country or did the americans just abandon the south vietnamese army in favorable terms? Who was winning battle after battle and who was more likely go give up from a military point of view?
