Is it bad that I've never had a birthday party before?

I've always seen it as a waste of money, but it seems nice seeing other kids and teenagers being with a whole bunch of their friends, hanging out, maybe sometimes even getting drunk and doing things beyond that. I've never had a birthday party before, but I always do have a birthday cake, but not much more to it than that. Is it bad that I've never had a birthday party before? No sweet 16, no Chuckie Cheese *When I was little*, no Dave N' Busters. Although, I do remember that I went to Red Lobster that one year.
