What do i need to connect a rode nt1a?

The mic you are about to chose is an excellent one, it will however require 48v phantom power to run it, which the pink mic jack on your computer DOES NOT supply. You will need an interface to convert USB to 3-pin XLR that also supplies phantom power (like the Shure X2u )...OR...you could get a USB microphone, like an Adudio Technica 2020, or the BLUE "Snowball" ...OR...you could use a dynamic mic that requires no phantom power, but simply needs to plug into an adapter to fit your computer's mic port.
