How common is it for people to claim to have been visited by god/Jesus/Satan?

I'm asking because I have an aunt who believes that the presence of Spawn memorabilia in her home opened some sort of gateway to hell .....which cause him to come to her in her sleep ....and cover her in green fog until she almost died.
